Classes Resuming at ABA

Hello ABA Families!

I hope you all are well and hanging in there. I am so happy to let you know that we will reopen Monday, May 11th. This will include Ballet I-VI, contemporary, & adult classes. We are so excited and have been busy cleaning and implementing appropriate changes to ensure we all stay healthy. The studio has also been sprayed with NISUS DSV, which is a hospital grade spray that is used against SARS & COV-2. After spraying at night and drying it continues to break down microscopic organic matter.

Below is a list of what we will be implementing along with the guidelines set by the CDC.

  • We are asking that everyone wear a mask
  • Sanitize as you enter the building
  • Come dressed for class, the dressing room will be closed
  • Do not come if you are sick
  • Wash hands after barre and wipe down barres with antiseptic wipes
  • Bring a water bottle and fill it only once before class begins
  • Drop off only so we do not have extra bodies in the lobby
  • Please talk to your kids about not touching each other and leaving space between each other
  • Sadly... no hugs for now

Classes will be kept at 10 or less. If you are in Pre-Ballet or Ballet Fundamentals, we will continue classes through Zoom. If you could please let me know if you plan on attending classes at the studio I can work on a schedule. I completely understand if some of you are not comfortable returning right now, so please let me know. I would like to figure out a way to keep the Zoom classes available if you can not attend at the studio. Classes will be available (at the studio) first to those who have attended via Zoom over the past seven weeks. I will work on invoices for May as I hear back from you. Please let me know if you have any questions. I’m sorry that I can not start back with my little ones, but I think it is a lot to ask of them.

WE LOVE AND MISS YOU ALL!

Acting class is open to all students beginning in Ballet I. Its purpose is to help dancers to explore their own individual artistry, build confidence, leadership skills and develop team cooperation. The curriculum uses theater games and improvisation to help artists develop the ability to make creative choices when preparing to perform a variation or full-length ballet.

(Beginner)

For dancers with little to no experience in hip-hop dance. This class is designed to introduce concepts of the hip-hop culture as well as musicality, coordination, style, self-confidence, increase memory and execution of movement. The warm-up is designed to instill and nurture movement that the student can use to express themselves and get familiar with this style of dance.

(Intermediate)

For dancers with a little to moderate amount of hip-hop training. This class is designed to elaborate upon the hip-hop culture and use those concepts to explore urban movement. We will practice musicality, coordination, style, isolations, self-confidence, increase memory and execution of movement. The class purpose is to begin to focus these standard concepts into technically fun and inspiring dances. Lessons in this class can be applied to athletic development, cultural awareness and exploring creativity.

(Advanced)

For dancers with a moderate to exceptional amount of hip-hop training. This class is designed to share concepts of the hip-hop culture and fine tune those concepts while challenging the dancer to express himself/herself using musicality, coordination, style, movement quality and high-level choreography. These classes will be used to prepare the student for master classes that will be featured at the studio.

Attendance Policy

Parents and students are encouraged to avoid making appointments during class time. Students who miss class regularly will be moved into a lower class level in order to maintain the integrity of each class’s curriculum. Parents must notify the Academy if their child is going to be absent. Students are encouraged to make-up all missed classes as quickly as possible.

Tuition Policy

The class terms at the Academy are August thru July. Meaning, classes begin in mid-August of one year and end in July of the next year. Tuition at the Academy is based on a single amount divided into twelve monthly payments. Tuition is due by the tenth of each month. A late fee of $10 is expected for payments received after the tenth of each month. Tuition is not reduced to reflect missed classes due to illness, work schedules, vacations, or holidays. Make-up classes can be arranged with the teacher. Adjustments will be made for summer vacations if the Academy is notified in writing beforehand.

A student is considered enrolled in a class until the Academy is notified in writing that the student will not be returning. This policy permits the Academy to keep the enrollment in each level from exceeding the limit established by the Directors to maintain professional standards. Tuition is due until written notification is received. Notifications can be mailed to info.aba.fl@gmail.com.
