Creative Movement in St. Petersburg, FL

For Young Dancers | 45-Minute Class

Creative Movement at The Academy of Ballet Arts introduces young dancers to the joy of imagination, music, and movement. This class encourages self-expression while developing coordination, balance, and confidence in a fun and supportive environment.

What Your Child Will Learn

• Warm-Up & Stretching: Gentle exercises to wake up the body.
• Balance & Coordination: Learn to transfer weight, jump, and move with control.
• Use of Space & Musicality: Explore movement with music in a creative way.
• Group Activities & Self-Expression: Build confidence while learning to work with others.

Over time, students become familiar with the structure of a dance class, developing self-discipline and focus while still embracing their individuality.

Class Details:

• Duration: 45 minutes
• Attire: Any color leotard
• Progression: Students transition into Pre-Ballet at the teacher’s discretion, based on their coordination, attention span, and readiness.

Dress Code

• Girls: any color leotard, tights, and pink ballet slippers.
• Boys: wear shorts, shirts, socks, and ballet slippers. 
• Hair: The discipline of dance requires that long hair for girls and boys in all levels be secured away from the face. For girls, this means in a bun or pinned up in braids. For boys, depending on hair length this means a tight ponytail, braid, or headband. This permits the teacher to see the correct alignment of the spine and neck. Loose hair can cause eye irritation during turns and is a distraction to both student and teacher. Students will not be allowed to take class with their hair down or in loose ponytails.
• All students are required to wear street clothing over their ballet clothes when entering or leaving the studio.
