Summer Intensive Workshops in St. Petersburg, FL

The Summer Intensive Workshops at The Academy of Ballet Arts offer dancers of all levels the opportunity to train, refine technique, and explore multiple dance styles in an immersive program. Held at our studios on the ArtsXchange Campus of the Warehouse Arts District, these intensives provide high-level instruction, performance opportunities, and creative exploration.

Summer Intensive Programs

Intensive #1: Pre-Ballet & Dance Fundamentals

For Ages 6-10 | June 2 – June 6, 2025

This program is designed for young dancers with no prior ballet experience or up to two years of basic training (one class per week). The curriculum focuses on a specific ballet or cultural theme, introducing students to foundational techniques and artistic expression.

Acting & Performance
Choreography
Arts & Crafts

The week concludes with an in-studio performance for families and friends.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Cost: $175

Intensive #2: Ballet IA & IB

For Ages 8-12 | June 9 – June 27, 2025

This intensive is for dancers with at least two years of ballet training. Students from other dance programs are welcome but must schedule an audition class before May 3, 2025 to be considered.

Pointe (Ballet IB only, with teacher’s permission)

Contemporary

Modern
Variations
Acting
Dance History
Stretch & Strengthen

The three-week program ends with an in-studio performance for family and friends on Friday, July 27, 2025.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Cost: $525

Intensive #3: Ballet II & III-IV

For Ages 11-18 | July 7 – August 1, 2025

This program is designed for intermediate and advanced dancers looking to refine their technique and artistry. Students from other dance programs are welcome but must schedule an audition class before May 3, 2025 to be considered.

This intensive also includes:

Introduction to Allegra Kent’s Water Exercises
A visit to a local museum tied to a choreographic project

The four-week program concludes with an in-studio performance on Friday, August 1, 2025.

Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Saturday, 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM
